Celebrating the Week of the Young Child

This is Day Two of the Week of the Young Child programs, activities and celebrations that are happening all over the nation, courtesy of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

This year’s WotYC theme is Early Years are Learning Years, so I specifically wanted to bring your attention to the Creative Learning Preschool & Child Care Center, Inc (CLP) both because it’s close to home and because a friend of mine, DNR rep Martye Griffin, went there yesterday to teach kids about streams and bugs!

This is wholly in keeping with the theme and the direction of the school: “Teachers are experienced, well-educated early childhood professionals who genuinely care about children and understand child development. The program offers a wide array of opportunities for children to enhance their physical skills through active play with state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor play equipment.”

I’m looking forward to the rest of their week!
